Why?

Why?

I think we’ve all been asking ourselves this question a lot lately.

We are three weeks into our road trip, which is phase one of producing the film.

I wish I could say it was all sunshine and puppy dogs, but man, it has been a monumental challenge.

• Why did I agree to this?
• Why can’t we seem to communicate?
• Why is it not easier?
• Why is there so much tension?
• Why do the creative and the business sides not see what they are doing to each other?
• Why is Texas so big?

But that all goes away, we unite as one team, and forget all of the difficulty when we watch our dailies, our teaser reel, and our kickstarter.com reel.

The question of why is easily answered.  We are reminded that what we are doing really matters, that someone has to tell the story and we are the ones to do it, and that the people we are talking to and those that we will reach are the reasons why.

So onward we go.  Putting ourselves and our loved ones through some tough times, so that in the end, if when we succeed, we can help others avoid tough times for themselves.  I know it sounds cheesy, but that’s the truth.
